Any wheel will fail if given enough abuse. The question is how much will they fail. Some wheels will shatter at the same impact on a corner/berm/dip/divet while others might just crack and have a bend…allowing the car to limp right off. Usually, brands without strict cert testing will end up like the former, just shattering upon impact, which might incur more damage to other parts of the car…others like Weds or Rays, which subject themselves to various tests and certs might survive a harsh impact.
Love mine! My car was hit in the front and the wheel smacked the curb and was still in perfect shape, just a lil curb rashed

Was happy with mine until the roads started eating them. Cracked 4 since March. Just put in an order for some Enkeis because I’m tired of having to replace the AV20s every month
Have had av20s on 2 cars. Had no issues minus curb rash that was my fault. Cast wheels are fine for daily driving, they are cheap enough that if you curb rash them its not a big deal. If you are racing then you should probably get some wheels that are stronger.
