When you put after market headers on 8th gen, does it replace your cat or go to it?

depending on the header u get. skunk2 replaces the cat which is what i have. make sure u get a rear motor mount
Why do I need to get a rear motor mount?
if u dont the header will hit subframe.
Just the skunk2 will or all headers?
pretty sure most headers. skunk2 is best off the shelf header for our car. i honestly wouldn’t buy a diff brand
unless u wanna spend 1200 for a ASP custome built header lol
Since it won’t have the cat doesn’t it make the engine light come on?
nope not if u have flashpro which u need to run a catless header too. and also get a oem 02 sensor extension from honda. its like 35.00
Wow.. I think @Nikki has made the most sense out of EVERYONE I’ve seen post on this whole group. ??
90 percent of well named brand header, will replace your factory cat. However vibrant use to sell hi flow cat header but they discontinued it. Now you have to mock up a hfc like berk and make it to were you can just remove it as you please
kyle are u going to cars in beaches june 6?? if so u will see my car there
Where is it at? I havnt been to a car meet yet because they are so far away
its in ruskin like 30 min south of tampa
Oh sweet I might go then. Is there like a page or something with an address
sorry i gave u the 2013 cars n beaches. its june 6. same address as the first one though.
http://afhkparts.com/ also have the o2 extender. I think it was 20 bucks. And I didn’t do the rear motor mount I did the stiffy
What’s the stiffy?
An engine damper
Ingalls stiffy.
Is it easy to install?
Super easy I think it took 15 to 30 min it’s a breeze
I prefer rear mount… does a better job holding the motor down
exactly joe @Joseph
To each their own
So if I want to change my headers I need a 02 extension, a tune because my cat will be gone. And a rear motor mount or damper?
i love my hasport mount and like joe said it is way better than the stock mounts. i have the 70a race spec
u don’t necessarily need a tune it depends. i bought a vittune but im running a 3.5 intake and the full
race exhaust as well
I mean in my opinion, the stiff is a waste of money. Honestly if you were some crazy build that requires more stiffness then a hasport rear and innovative mounts will get the job done better. And you don’t have to waste money on that and have to sell it to try and make up money
@Kile you need the o2 extention for the skunk2 header (in which btw is the best off the shelf header on the market) yes you’ll need a tune correct your fueling ignition timing and cam angle and a 70a hasport rear will do the job.
Well a waste to you Joe isn’t a waste to me like I said to each their own. The Ingalls does a damn great job on my car. And I didn’t have to mess with a mount. So it just depends on what the person wants to do.
i would rather have full mounts. but yea to each there own.
I’m just being honest Tyler. I’ve owned my fa5 for 5 years and I’ve seen alot of people buy the stiffy and then pull it and sell it. It’s better to do real mounts. Saves you money in the long run for the build that you do
@Joseph the 70a hasport is the mount right?
Yes.
I didn’t say u weren’t joe. All I said was to each their own there is no wrong answer here and your all trying to say yours is the only possible solution. Both work. Both do the same damn job. Just depends on what that person wants to do to that persons car. Plain and simple
Hes right its not what u want. I 2nd what joe said up there. Ingals is shit real motor mounts ftw
