Is that the manual or the RS supplement, because the regular manual isn’t RS specific

1
Kerrin

@Justin supplement

0
Patrick

That looks like euro specs to me.

0
Patrick

That isn’t the US supplement

10w60 in summer. 0w40 in winter.

Really 0w-40? Is this what the car was really designed to take ? Dealer tell been telling me 5w50… which is better to use ? Keep in mind my car is only ever summer driven no cold conditions

0
Jory

0w40 is what the owners manual in europe recommends.

0
Jory

Thicker so 5w50 if not driven in the cold.

0
Devon

Thoughts on this anyone ?

0
Devon

5w50 is thicker then 0w40

0
Jory

Yes I know. If you only drive it in warm weather you want to use thicker. It gets down to -40 where I live at times. 10w60 would be a brick at that temp haha.

0
Devon

I feel like it should be the other way around ahha

0
Jory

No thicker gives you better wear protection cause the hotter oil is the thinner it gets.

0
Devon

Ya but too much thickness isn’t good either … just wondering what is best for me 5w50 seems more like a general oil for everyone

0
Jory

The only thing that will suffer is your fuel economy and even that is negligible. 5w50 will be good for you.

What does your fucking manual say? Jesus Christ.

Do you really think the people advising you on what oil to use are smarter then the engineers that built the engine. Something to think about. Like others have said, whatever the manual says.

I know I like reading all the comments good or bad . Crude or Sarcastic. Very entertaining I will go with 5w50 I ordered a brand from Germany. Car is new to me and I was reading 2 different weights on the forms. I just like getting feed back and suggestion from other rs owners. It’s the reason I’m on the page.

Brennan

@Mike me too

David

Just throw some 30w in and it will be fine.

@Alex why not just 5w50 year round

0
Alex

@Mike I put the fancy racing 15-50 In It in the summer because It gets the shit kicked out of It lol.

0
Mike

That makes sense. Dominator?

0
Alex

@Mike yeah exactly. I truthfully don’t even really use the car that often In the actual winter I just put the usual signature Synthetic amsoil stuff in the colder months

1
Mike

Honestly i would do exactly this probably.

Hunter

5w50
