It all depends what you want outta the oil …some last longsr more then others & other clean better and other preform better at cold start. ..but any fresh new oil changed at internal is better then old ,used up ,burn oil
The only oil I have ever used in my Malibu is conventional 5W-30 Penzoil, never had any problems!
Anything full synthetic. Mobil 1, penzoil, amazon basics, meijer… anything SN plus approved
Ive been looking into some Supertech oil
Supertech is fine, it’s manufactured by the same supplier AmazonBasics uses for their oil.
Amsoil is what I use. Great oil. And please leave super tech on the shelf
@Michael thanks and is Supertech garbage?
Supertech is ok to use aslong its changed at interval
It will get you by. But it isn’t all that great. Sure people will tell you they ran 50k miles on super tech and never had a issue. But there are a lot better oils out there
50k miles????? dont do that….3k for regular 5k for synthetics lol
@Tony ya for sure it will get you by. But like I said there are a lot better oils out there
@Tony I wasn’t talking about intervals. I was talking about 50k miles on the engine using it. And 5k is a thing of the past for a lot of synthetics.
That’s why I use Amsoil.
I know i wouldnt go 50k on super tech , & about talking about a lot of cat.3 base oil they sell at Wal-Mart
I get discounts on Amsoil. A lot of their oil is group 4. Not all but a lot. It’s just a piece of mind thing I reckon. Never have ran super tech personally but never will.
Im runing this for now just gonna go 10k through
Why stop at 10? Do a oil analysis and see how it’s working. Whenever I sell someone amsoil signature series which is good for one year or 25k miles I always recommend doing a oil analysis when they get to around 10-15k if they want to do extended drain intervals. I can get oil analysis kits to
Good point and idea ..gonna look into it !
How much does that cost though? Oil test?
@Tony sent you a pm
I think they are like 2.77
@Travis what is?
The Supertech oil
@Michael does that amsoil work really good?
@Travis look up videos on youtube on it and supertech… You can go 25k on amsoil
@Travis only complaint I have had is that their gas Mileage didn’t go up on a full size 4×4. Yes it’s great oil. You can research all about it. I don’t like being the salesman that just spews all the data in a post. I can send you information on just about anything Amsoil makes. And they make a lot more than just 25k oil. Feel free to pm me anytime if you wanna talk more about it. I don’t wanna flood the post with chats
@Michael PM sent
AMS OIL
Schaeffers
Amsoil SS
1 year or 15k miles oil change intervals. For about 60 bucks.
5w 30
Unless you have the turbo it doesn’t matter. Just use the cheapest stuff that fits the required specs.
Lol dont listen to people who tell you it doesnt matter what kind of oil you use, Or to use the cheapest out there. At the very least use a good quality full synthetic oil.
Prove it does matter. This is not a high performance race car. A regular non turbo non gdi engine does not need full synthetic. While Amsoil technically is the best, it’s very expensive. Any oil that meets the Dexos1 Gen 2, API SN, and ILSAC GF-5 requirements will be fine for your car.
@Brandon its not expensive considering some folks can go a whole year on a oil change for round 60 bucks. Compared to those changing it at 3-5k for 40 bucks a pop.
And the type of oil you use can determine weather or not your engine will go 100k or 400k. You use a cheap oil it will show, and cause significantly more wear than a high quality full synthetic oil like Amsoil.
@Brandon yes some AMSOIL has a higher price point. But they have oil that is lower in price. AMSOIL has more than just 25k signature series
I use syn blend Castrol
Brotella t6.
Going to try this oil
