I can buy a base model V6 and build one much better for much cheaper….

1
Robert

@Bryan I would have to see that to believe it.

Nolan

@Robert never underestimate the power of a v6.

@Robert that’s the common argument: “why would I buy a (insert trim level here) when I can buy a (insert lower trim here) and build one better for cheaper.

It’s completely asinine but almost as common as asking what gas or oil should be used.

Robert

When I see someone say much better, I read that as in all facets. That means faster in a straight line, corners better, tows more, etc. Then how’s that warranty? Still will not have the resale (yes I know the value of the SRT will drop like a rock, but mods hold zero value).

Robert

@Bryan gotcha. I misunderstood you. I smell what you’re stepping in now.

2
Nolan

@Robert you mean what we know.

1
Bryan

@Robert just expect that 95% of what I say is sarcasm, especially if it reads like a comment from a booger-eating moron.

1
Nolan

@Bryan nothing wrong with eating boogers. They build your immune system.

Bryan

@Robert FYI—116 octane and either coconut or olive. You’re welcome!

2
Robert

@Bryan I gotcha. We would get along. It’s hard to tell with some of the folks around here. Lol

1
Nolan

@Robert as a general rule @Bryan and I will be sarcastic. Unless we are talking about legmaker intakes.

2
Bryan

@Robert TB spacers and Blowmasters are the best mods ever!!

1
Bryan

@Nolan but could you imagine a Legmaker with a TB spacer and red coilpacks?!

@Robert Just a few examples of my flavor of sarcasm. ?

@Nolan that’s so gross! ?

Robert

So you’re saying I should cancel my order of my tornado throttle body spacer and flowmaster mufflers? I was expecting 20-30hp at the wheels.

0
Nolan

It’s gonna be closer to 20-30 hp at the feels.

1
Bryan

Robert Rickords that depends. Are you also adding a pedal voltage booster and colorful coil packs?

Are you going to claim the maximum advertised gainz without ever getting on a dyno? And then bitch about the cost of a $500 custom dyno tune…..?

Or are you saying you don’t want to go to a drag strip to get a time slip to find out exactly how fast your BEAST!!! is because it’s a daily driver and not a racecar…..but you still want all da gainz because you want to go fast….. ?

1
Nolan

@Bryan time slips and dyno sheets don’t tell me nothing. Mine is fast. I drive it I should know.

2
Bryan

@Nolan Butt-Dyno, 110% guaranteed results on all claimed gainz!

1
Nolan

And don’t forget about the huge stopping power you get with caliper covers.

There’s a thread going around right now. I’m being called out on it for hating on them.

@Nolan on the 3rd gen family group?

DDOC

Robert

@Nolan are people over there really saying they are getting gains from them? I need to logon and stir some pot.

0
Nolan

@Robert no it’s in this group. They say the haters are gonna hate they did it cuz it looks good but it’s actually detrimental to their braking. It restricts airflow over their calipers and doesn’t allow proper cooling.

The Durango is way overpriced

Have to disagree. What vehicle competes with it for the same or less money?

0
Brayson

@Robert so that’s the reason to charge that much? Please I’ll get a Trackhawk before I replace the Durango RT with the SRT

0
Robert

@Brayson the RT is an awesome vehicle. So it the Trackhawk. But, the DSRT and Trackhawk are two totally different price points also. Depending on options you’re going to get into a DSRT for 60-70. A Trackhawk is going to be basically 100,000.

And yes, competition dictates price. All manufacturers do it. Like I said, an RT is awesome, but it cannot be made to do the same as a SRT for the same money assuming you buy both new.

2 row vs 3. Otherwise pretty much the same thing. Grand Cherokee weighs a little less.

I know your talking newer one but i have owned a 99 grand Cherokee it had a 318 and handled like a dream in the snow. Also now have two 99 Durangos slt both 4×4 1 with 318 and one with 360. The Durango’s are way better in snow. And like i said the jeeps were great in snow. Thats all i noticed in mine and i will never go back to jeep. Feel much safer in my Durango it can take a hard hit and keep going.

I have a 99 SlT and it is a beast in the snow . I want a newer one but its I don’t think the new models can do the job that my 99 can.

Michelle

@Jamaal same here but they are sexy ?

1
Jamaal

Yes I agree but also I like the first gen body style and how rugged it looks.

0
Michelle

Jamaal Foster me too i wont get rid of my first gens. Trying to talk all my sons into buying 1st gens. Then we can be a family of Durangos ?

Thanks for the input folks! I just admire the SRT look on the Jeep Cherokee. I’m going to have to test drive them both.

Cargo space vs no space. Some off road vs goods off road.

Saw the jeep SRT the other day at the dealer, didn’t even have full leather interior. And bit was this weird burnt orange color. I personally thought it was ugly.

Between the two I’d take the Jeep SRT if I didn’t need a third row.
