Wipe it with some wd40, or some silicon based oil. Won’t last for shit but it’ll work until it rains or you wash it

A buddy of mine let his get hot sitting in the sun, and spread peanut butter on them and claimed to bring the black back out. Not sure how that worked out, probably better to use Back To Black.

I tried this and it didn’t work for crap. I could tell a little difference, but not enough to make it worth the time.

Back to black back faded pretty quickly on mine. I watched a YouTube video where a guy just used Armor All Tire Shine on his and since I had some laying around I decided to give it a shot and had great results. It’s lasted a couple weeks somehow, and my favorite part is that it was a lot easier to get off the paint than back to black

The reason for this question. I have been using Outlast sporadically and thought I was keeping the fading under control. Then I installed these door cups and what a difference in the color. The door handles are much more faded than I thought.

I use Wipe New. Worked great and longest lasting. Consumer reports agrees. https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2014/05/best-exterior-car-trim-cleaners/index.htm

Pressure wash the bumpers and fenders, dry and spray paint back to black or color of choice. I tried all those other products and it was temporary.

Metal isn’t as forgiving when bouncing off trees on the trails!

1

@Susan plastic won’t protect much when bouncing of trees and rocks on the trails! Good quality metal will.

I don’t see many rock crawlers sporting plastic oem bumpers, but maybe they are all crazy.

0
Robert

But easiest way by far to keep that plastic looking nice is to find people like me that don’t want that plastic junk and we will just give it to you. No need to try to make your old plastic look knew again. Just put free new plastic on again, lol.
