I just replaced mine on my 98 TJ Sport made it drive a lot nicer. I will look for the one I bought.

How’d you choose that one?

Did yours need too be done or did you just want too do it?

Front end felt a little drifting. Choose it after reading reviews

Mine felt like it was drifting while driving. Plus could see moisture at the end of the old one

I’m tempted to let another Jeeper drive mine and give an opinion

It isn’t difficult to replace it.

Replace yes. Don’t need gold. Just something decent. Rough country 2.2 works for me

My Jeep is my daily. Should a stabilizer for such be chosen differently than those who trail more often?

Just did mine. It’s my DD so I didn’t go “off-road expensive”. Works fine.

So, price is how you personally guage if for DD or rough?

Like $38. It’s smoother for sure.

Just ordered the same, thanks!

What exactly does the stabilizer “smooth” out?

Just some vibration issued. Nothing like freakin’ D.W.! Not even close. Checked my ball joints and all my other connection points are tight. Generally if you’re running oversized tires you replace everything connecting your steering because if you don’t all your “calibrations” are thrown way the hell off.

I put a zone stabilizer on when I got my 3″ zone lift. Huge difference.

Why do they even put them on stock is the question.

So you have to buy more crap… but don’t lie… we buy -everything- eventually, @Jim. ?

To dampen your steering parts so they don’t where out and get DW.

While driving, when your front tires hit a bump, pothole, debris, etc. the steering stabilizer is there to perform the job of the other shocks,…kinda. Instead of it “dampening” the “up & down” stroke of the tires, it manages the “side to side” aspect. They also reduce steer wander.
Yes. You should have one. If your oem leaks, replace it.
My rule of thumb is that you replace them when you replace shocks and NEVER with a Rancho! They are prone to leakage. I have Fox, and love them. They are pricey, but more than worth it.

Rancho has hella good reviews on Amazon and lifetime warranty though????

My experience with Rancho says otherwise. And “lifetime warranty”?? How many times do you want to replace it? Myself, once, and done. Rancho was a so-so shock/stabilizer when they came out. Quality was…lacking. Monroe purchased them, and not much has changed. Seals blow out, leak oil if you off-road at all.
That being said, that’s MY experience over the past 30+ years. Maybe you’ll have better luck.

$47 Monroe…Amazon

So what brand did we decide to AVOID. And which to buy?
