I just don’t see paying 900$ for kooks and get the same results as a cheaper place you know?

Definitely not the same results or kooks would consider a price reduction. This subject has been talked about numerous times on C5. I’d go there for your clarity. Cheers.

DONT THINK ABOUT IT go tsp

Travis

I love my tsp’s but I don’t like how thin they are you hear valve train but American racing are supposed to be best in the buisness from what little I’ve heard the kooks are thicker as well but it’s what ever fits the budget

The guys who started American Racing previously worked at Kooks for years. Same exact product just took a lot of Kooks business and had a lot of brand support.

TSP

As long as the flange that bolts to the head is thick you should be ok. Thin flanges will warp and cause leaks.

TSP is outsourced and made in china. There is a reason the price is set to where its at. Its not a bad header just better to save a bit more and get it done right..

um a bit is double… and my headers are absolutely fine

Fine is okay and all but why not have perfect? Have you had the chance to install all 3 options TSP,kooks,American Racing on multiple occasions? It may be worth wild to get your hands on all three and then provide a response.

All I am saying is that it was like 700 for the TSP headers and 1200 for ARH and I got TSP and they sound amazing, and the fitment was fine. So I can understand going for the best (which I usually do), but when you are on a bit of a budget and still want great fitment and performance, why not go TSP. That is all I am saying 🙂

No need for cats emissions down here .. there is none

Yeah, originally I was going to get high flow cats, but my local tuner told me it is a waste of money because there is nothing inside them and when you tune headers, the CEL goes off anyway

Have you looked into Hooker , Headman or Doug Thorley ? Pretty sure Thorley is better than Kooks and been around racing and hot rods way longer

Thorley isn’t even a whisper in the 5th gen world and isn’t better then kooks.

I doubt that Devin Dean Taetsch… I would have to see comparable dyno test to believe it. Do you have any proof or are you just a Kooks Homer ?

No, I’ve purchased and used both American Racing and kooks and helped a buddy install his TSP’S I’m unbiased but will call on good product quality when I see it. TSP is a China made product and Doug Thorley isn’t in the 5th gen community nearly as much as the ones I listed above. That sir is a fact.

That’s because Thorley is for the big boys. J/k … I’m sure Kooks is comparable to Thorley. I know Thorley has ceramic coating inside and out and won’t change color from the heat.

Devin

You find thorley more in the truck world, older muscle and slowstangs. And yes, Ceramic coating is offered in most header brand options now.
