Quick question. What are you guys averaging to a tank? How many miles? Pretty sure I’m getting extra shitty mpg.

220 ish at quarter tank
27 average on a 1.6
Never got a tank under 30 mpg on my 1.6
Damn. I’m only averaging like 20. And I don’t get anywhere near 12 gallons to tank when I fill up. Only 9 gallons. I’m all sorts of messed up. ?
Mines is like 10.1 gal
It’s 9 from E to F but there are a few gallons past E, from a personal experience
@Tyler thanks for the heads up
@Matt yeah I try not to push it past the E mark but I’ve had to a few times
11 gallons was the most I ever put in my 1.8. That was 340 miles.
I get around 280 in my 1.6.
I’m getting 180 miles at most on 9-10 gallons. Likely culprits?
City driving?
Yeah all city driving
No turbo/supercharger?
@Jim no boost. I have a gutted cat, no muffler or resonators which isn’t going to help but not gonna hurt me 10mpg worth
City driving is gunna hurt a lot. How fresh are the plugs and wires, air filter. What tire pressure?
@Jim Plugs, wires were changed this year. Air filter hasn’t been changed since I’ve had it. Tire pressure at 30.
Definitely change your air filter. I was getting mileage like you (all city driving) but I gained a solid extra 20-30 miles a tank I’ve noticed. could be other factors too though. not sure! now I usually get 220-250 miles per tank in a 1999 1.8
I have a 1.8 95 and get over 300 miles on a full tank
I have a 94 I’m also getting over 300 per tank
Yea I thought mine was doing bad on gas but guess its average for the 1.8
29-32 avg 1.8
Okay so, 92 1.6 avg 20 mpg like 180 miles on 9-10 gallons. No boost. Gutted cat, no muffler no resonators. Idles a high. 1500-2000. (Any help on the idling would be great too) ???
Clean ur throttle body…take it off and clean it if that doesn’t work jump the ten to ground in the diagnostic box let car idle turn the idol adjustment screw until it idols at 800-900 rpm
180-230 depending how I drive 😮
Like 280-320 ish
My NC gets about 17 mpg, could get better if I tried but I would rather have fun when driving XD
I’ve never put more than 9 in my na6 and get between 25-30
25 in the city
93 na, lead foot, 19.97mpg on regular. 99.5% city
00 NB, 22-27, depending on weather, and what kind of driving I’m doing.
19mpg on E85, on a good day
Nc. 22 to 25
I average 29-32 mpg in my 90 1.6
21-27 on my misfiring NB
27-31 on my turbo NA
I get like 200ish out of a tank. Stock 97. Mostly city driving.
Pro tip: MPGs are more useful than “how much out of a tank”. The tank is 11-13 gallons (with judicious rounding), and I bet most people don’t run through more than 9 or 10 before filling. 😛
Right on but I wasn’t sure if everyone was getting 9 gallons like I was, which is why I asked
What?? I can only fit like 9 in my tank I have a 97
You gotta run it down some more. 12.7 gallon tank
One time I get kept filling it and I got to like 10. Something but like it was literally about to over flow
Your needle will generally go 2 to 2.5 widths BELOW the empty line. Fill a 2 gallon gas can and keep it with you and drive until the car dies. I thought that’s something everyone did when they bought a new car… 😛
Ohhhhhhh okay yeah because mine goes past the full line like a couple notches
I always calculate input vs output lol… probably withing .1 gallon because I fill it FULL lol
24-26 city and 28-30 highway
Just got 24.5 in my 1.6, mostly spirited/city driving.
You guys gotta get out of these cities.
97 NA, 25ish mpg normal… <12 on autocross
6,000,000 mi per tank
99 NB. 23 if I drive like an ass. 27 if I’m nice to it. I got 30 once when I left the top up and drove like a grandpa.
I get garbage mpg because I’m always romping the gas
Does that help you go faster? Lol
I just like to hear my exhaust
Going to get worse mpg after my 13b swap
It was just a Miata joke
Why 13b swap?
Because it’s rad. I’d do a v8 or a turbo setup but everyone does it.
07 Nc city & hwy mix is usually 25. If i really baby it its about 28 or 29, but who wants to do that very often
22mpg out of my 95. All city and a mix of chill and spirited driving.
200 mi / tank 93 NA6
Any mods? Bone stock I’m getting 300+ in my 93
Just a charcoal can delete. Old spark plugs and wires though, definitely need to touch up a few things and I have a leak in my exhaust too
I don’t have a charcoal can either.
About 32 hwy and 27-28 city.
I get 150 to a tank
What all do u have done to it that’s horrible for stock
Turbo, big injectors, tune
36mpg hwy, 25-27 city. If I really abuse it, about 18mpg. But I’m boosted.
220km/20litre
’97…300 to a tank
280-310 in the city.
300 96 m
How are you guys getting 300ish to a tank? Do I need to replace something? Fuel filter, etc? Spark plugs and wires and air filter were just changed.
Do you city drive or country?
Everybody exaggerate…urban drivng combining highways and cities a miata best is 220 230km per 20litre
I use synthetic oil,I think that helps
@Jim mostly city. I get about 200mi to each tank (about 9ish gallons)
I’m almost all country and get 300 on my 1.8 and 280 on my 1.6
1.8 tank is 12.9 and the 1.6 is 11.9
@Nick you’re probably leaving 60 miles in the tank, so you’re not to bad.
92 NA6 i get bout 225 city 280-312 (max ive done) interstate
I got 93 miles off a qtr tank and got 545 miles on a tank and a half
My 93 1.6 gets on average 275-300 miles per tank. Mixed city and highway
