Heat gun with fishing line. Skip the paint and keep it debaged.
@Drew, do you have pictures of it debadged?
Only on my car, but it isn’t a rav4. I’ve been trying to do my fiance’s for a while, but she insists keeping it :/
@Drew does look pretty smooth!
Mine are plasti-dipped black. Shop did it for me and used a good 7/8 coats. Almost a year old and it hasn’t budged
Plastic Dip
Does anybody have the dark gray RAV4 with black emblems?
@Steve
Did you do it?
How did you manage to get in between the letters?
@Gerardo a Friend did it with me using small brushes & steady hand, I had a friend help because I don’t have patience nor a steady hand! LOL
@Steve Thanks, they look very good. ??
@Gerardo I’m just an old 60 year old guy whose neighbor kids say I Murdered Out my RAV, I took my RAV4 to a Shop you painted Calipers & center cap of wheels yellowyellow
@Steve Lol that’s funny I’m going to do my Calipers too. What do Kid’s know this days anyways lol.
Use a shop towel. Just saw the edge of the towel under the emblem. The remaining adhesive should rub off with your fingers.
Not suggesting that it’s a bad thing or that it is silly or anything, but can someone tell me the purpose behind de-badging? What does it achieve?
@Mark looks way better
@Mark when I was in DETROIT most TOYOTA trucks were completely debadged. Whenever I asked them why they said that it was because they didn’t think the badges were necessary.
Fair enough.
Gives them a sleeker appearance
Get a pickaxe and just YEET until they fall off
I used a heat gun to remove them and black plasti-dip to paintthem (about 6-7 coats)
@Andy
What kind of tape to put them back?
@Gerardo double sided foam. Something like the picture
@Andy
Thanks for the info.?
Heat gun on low. Goo gone for glue residue. Plastidip for the black
Rav4 paint peals
I’d like to get rid of mine as I like it clean, too…but I obviously don’t wear the pants in my family and I’m not allowed. 🙂
