What was the seatbelt recall about? My back seat middle belt locked when the back seat was down and wouldn’t release. Had to cut it to release and use the other 2 seats

Melissa

I traded mine in for a chevy. Lol seriously!

Then again if you bought used previous owner could’ve beat the hell out of it which wouldn’t help the situation

Man… haha.. ugh!! I bought a loaner car that ford used then they have to put them up for sale after 2 years

I see nothing special from the 2017 from my 2013…. other than the fresh car smell

0
Ben

The 2017 has much larger depreciation.

0
Phil

Unfortunately when you buy the first year of any car there are usually some kinks that have to be worked out. All manufacturers have recalls.

AshleyQuestion author

Is that when they switched body style

0
Phil

13 was the first year of the new style, yes. And honestly most vehicles won’t experience the issues, but it’s best to have all of them fixed.

I think my tranny is slipping anyways… when I get up n go it jurks

1

Typical ?

1
Phil

That’s kind of how they shift. I hear the aftermarket tunes help. If it’s a 2-3 or 4-5 shift issue I have had good luck replacing the SSB to help.

98% of all Ford’s are still on the road, the other 2% made it home

1
Logan

If it was a loaner car from the dealer than tons of techs, salesman, detail workers you name it they’ve driven it. It was beat down before you bought it, even if it was super low miles that’s just what dealership folks do half the time.

If you are receiving recall notices, it means Ford is looking after safety issues which is important for you and your family. “During the past six years, the CEOs of General Motors, Toyota and Volkswagen — the world’s three largest automakers — all testified before congressional committees to defend decisions tied to safety lapses, fatal accidents and cheating on emissions testing.” -Chicago Tribune. There are more recalls on all vehicles throughout the auto industry than ever before, but at least Ford is looking after their product without being taken before a congressional committee.

0

Hey I’m doing my engine right now. Haha. Ford is covering mine though

1
Melissa

Yeah i wasn’t so lucky. I got the recall in the mail today. Traded it in 2 weeks ago.

1
Adam

What happen to the engine?

0
Melissa

It overheated, head cracked and flooded the engine..

0
Jacob

You should see the recalls hyundai/kia have right now…. count your blessings

Kia especially.

0
Jacob

Our dealership does ford gm kia and vw. Kia just unleashed a 1.5 million car recall for bad engines.. last 2 months the kia boys behind me have done 1 engine a week for bad oiling or holes in the block. And that was BEFORE the recall

0
Kiley

My boyfriends dad has a soul and he’s constantly dumping oil in that thing. Sad part is, he’s only had it 5 years and is almost out of warranty!

0
Jacob

Yea they blow out oil pan, valve cover, and front cover gaskets pretty bad.

0
Melissa

I have come to find out the hard way that the 2013 ford fusion ecoboost 1.6L engines are the worst to own. Stay away from them.

Cryssi

How many miles were on yours when your engine went? I’ve had mine since ’14 and only had the safety recalls on it.

0
Melissa

94,xxx

0
Melissa

Went out with no warning. I got my recall yesterday for it

0
Jacob

1.6l is only offered as ecoboost. My parents have the exact same thing as well. Have 85k on it now with absolutely no issues to speak of

0
Reply
Melissa

My engine went out at 94,xxx miles.. no issues prior. Then it overheated at random and cracked the head. Just got my recall today for this issue. I traded it 2 weeks ago. I had to pay out of pocket bc the factory warrenty ran out at 75,xxx miles

0
Jacob

I could never own a car and let the warranty run out

0
Melissa

I bought it “used” so It was sold as is.

0
Jacob

I extended the warranty on my 08 twice lol

0
Melissa

I didn’t have that choice on mine.

0
Jacob

Ouch^ those sold as is deals can sometimes screw ya

0
Melissa

Yeah your telling me. That car ruined me from my favorite car. I loved my car until it tore up. And just before i traded it the heater core busted or something.. no warning

0
Melissa

Fixed it and then traded it for a 2007 tahoe.

0
Jacob

NEVER heard if tgose heater cores going bad… we just had one in the other day too with over 160k it was a 13 1.6l. You may have gotten a car that was brought out of salvage or had damage never reported. We had a flood vehicle like that im once. Took 6 return trips before everything was replaced to make it right again

0
Melissa

Idk. I have the carfax. It was a commercial vehicle though and was maintained.

0
Jacob

Something just isnt right about it. Too many bad items that pretty well never go bad

0
Melissa

Yeah.. too much thats why i got rid of it.

0
Jacob

Smart.

1
Melissa

Yep. Now i got this? i am pleased

Those come in the shop a lot too. Lots of bearings seals trannies and op switches. Good luck to you!

0
Melissa

Yeah but my husband can work on this and its a bit cheaper on part cost then the fusion was.

1
Jacob

Watch the oil…. just a heads up. They can eat lifters if you drop the ball.

1
Melissa

Got it. Thank you! ?

Supply and demand. Cars used to be 30-40K a year, now it’s double if not triple.

Shit happens but at least they fix it.

2

They didn’t fix mine. I did out of pocket and then they send out a damn recall today..

0

Did anyone have one for airbags?

1

AshleyQuestion author

Oh yeah that too

0
Christopher

Yeah my 08 has that recall and its been about 2 years since i recieved my letter. I still havent received my comfirmation letter saying my parts are available…

1
Don

Just cuz there are recalls doesn’t mean your car is a dud. Only that there is suspected faulty parts being put on cars when yours was being build. I’m sure half the recalls that ppl get have no repairs ever even made.. if you’ve had no real problems besides the company making sure what they sold you is safe I wouldn’t worry much…

That’s why you wait a year or two and never buy the first year of a new gen. This goes for every car brand not just ford.

2

Chad

Could be worse they could not have recalls and you could pay out of pocket. Recalls are free

1
Reply
Melissa

They didn’t recall mine at the time it happened. I had to pay out of poctet and now i don’t have the damn car anymore since i traded it 2 weeks ago. Do i get reimburse?? Probably not. I get screwed!

0
Melissa

Just got the recall yesterday

0
Chad

I’d fight it call Ford tell them if they don’t you’ll never buy another ford

1
Melissa

I am gonna try to. I have receipts from the new engine and hopefully they will comply and pay us back.

1
Melissa

Mine is over the engine overheating and cracking the head and causing a fire. Mine did exactly this but didn’t catch fire. Cost me 2 towing bills and parts costs.

1
Matt

The problem is circled and highlighted blue from the factory
