Is there any real way of unclogging a cat yourself or is the best choice to simply replace it?

Cut the cat off cut it open then gut the inside and then close it shut put it back on
Get a plumbers snake and shove it up the tail pipe ??
Most people I know with a Stopped up Cat go visit the Vet …
You can cut an access panel in it, empty it out and weld it closed.
Whatever you do, don’t keep driving it. Unless you wanna blow the bolt heads off the headers
Pull it, hammer a piece of rebar through it. Knock all the shit out of it. Reinstall.
If you pull it off and soak it in the can of berryman carb cleaner. To soak it, you may need 2 or 3 cans(gallons).
Then blow it out with air after a day of soaking.
I see everyone is suggesting to pull it off and clean it out….now I’m feeling like if I pull it im going to “delete” it??♀️??♀️?? no more cats problems
This.
Use that space to run an x pipe into some nicer mufflers.
@Trey good idea
Replace
Flood cat with high flash point solvent, let sit for 24 hrs.. drain, reinstall, and go on spirited drive with lots of Italian tuneup.
Take it out on a back road, put the pedal to the floor a few times until you see a big black puff of smoke come out the tailpipe. I have done it on many vehicles. Just did it on my Tahoe a couple weeks ago.
Pour a gallon of lacquer thinner into a half of gas tank then drive a 100 miles it will clean your cats
I just changed mine to high flow cats from Rockauto.
