I use @Idrive in my Jeep and absolutely love it! Definitely has the power for when you need it. My jeep is on 1 ton axles and 42 inch tires. So having that little extra helps with all the weight my Jeep is packing!!
I want to love my Pedal Commander. It made a ridiculous difference but after about 2 weeks my Jeep was throwing throttle engine codes and I had to take it out. Jeep went into limp mode and barely moved! I’ll probably try again because it really did make it much more fun to drive.
Have PC for 6 months, perfect and makes jeep feel so much more powerful even though no additional HP. Then last week, installed new ProComp headlights and then computer threw off 6 codes.(4 for lights and 2 for throttle) Even more concerning, the PC would automatically increase RPM’s slowly and basically make the jeep move on its own slowly increasing speed/RPM. I turned of PC, reset codes and has been fine but sure miss the throttle pep. I don’t know whether to change lights again to see if i can find some that are compatible with PC
I see a lot of people with issues with PC. Many people make the mistake of not following directions and changing modes while driving which will create those codes which are easy to turn off if you have a flashcal. I’ve had mine for almost a year and have had no issues but never change settings while driving.
@Danielle they are not a replacement for regearing. What they do is (in extremely simple terms) tells the computer the gas pedal is pressed further down than it actually is. You can set different modes to adjust the change to how you like – more or less of an increase.
Yes and no. Regearing to a lower gear set (for example 3.73s to 4.88s) makes it easier for the engine to transfer power to the wheels (usually needed due to installing larger tires and extra weight to the Jeep). Because it is now easier on the drive train you may find the throttle response increased (the “seat of the pants” feel it is often called). The pedal commander or idrive may now seem to be even better than before or you may be able to lower the setting and still get the same increase feeling. Make sense??
No problem! Always happy to help a fellow Jeeper understand their Jeep better!! Trust me I learn new stuff all the time lol usually after breaking something first lol!
I’ve had the pedal commander for a year now and love it. Stays in Sport+ 90% of the time. Never had an issue with it throwing codes when I change settings while driving.
@Jamie, yes. Works fine together. Works in 2 separate ways and the superchips settings are a joke compared to the throttle enhancers no matter which you use.
I have the Idrive and would recommend it. One of the best mods I have done.
Both ultimately do the same thing but the Idrive is much more advanced and has more options to choose from
Just wondering….more advanced in what ways?
@John, it has a auto learn and adjust feature that monitors your driving style and adjust it on the fly is one of the huge differences
Both do the same thing so apples and oranges ??♀️I have the Pedal Commander
I love my idrive definitely worth the money
I went with iDrive because of the automatic mode. I’m very happy with it.
I love my pedal commander!
I run the iDrive on our shop JL and was a night and day with 40s. Give me a shout directly and I can work with you on price, we have a ton in stock ? https://www.offroadelements.com/idrive-usa-throttle-controller-wrangler-jk-2007/

i have had no issues with my idrive ?♂️
I’ve swapped out my PCM with an unlocked one and never had issues with codes.

@Khena well that’s something you can do with and idrive while driving is changing on the fly
Are these used in place of regearing? Or do you need to regear before using?
@Danielle they are not a replacement for regearing. What they do is (in extremely simple terms) tells the computer the gas pedal is pressed further down than it actually is. You can set different modes to adjust the change to how you like – more or less of an increase.
You do not need to regear before using. Forgot to mention that lol.
Ok thank you
Would you get a better response from it if you DO regear 1st????
Yes and no. I have the idrive and love it.
I have iDrive and love it!
Stupid question…I have a superchips traildash 2 tuner. Can I run these together?
@Jamie traildash 2 has that built in to it in the setting
@Jamie, yes. Works fine together. Works in 2 separate ways and the superchips settings are a joke compared to the throttle enhancers no matter which you use.
@Shawn excuse my ignorance. Where does is plug in?
To the gas pedal connection.
I was thinking about the I drive also. And it’s cheaper than the P.C
@John, by nearly $100
@Shawn yes exactly. And it had awesome reviews.
