I ordered some AC plugs and wires from advanced auto. I heard that Echlin from NAPA is hard to beat in terms of quality. I want to get a cap, rotor, and coil from them. What do you think?

I have used champion for the past 10 years all year round. It has worked without any problems. But I have just bought a tune up kit from ecklers with plugs, wires, cap and rotor. That is AC plugs, Packard wires and dont know about cap and rotor. But plugs and wires should be like original as far as I know of. Just need some more wire retainers, before I replace the old set. 🙂

Just spent 92 bucks for cap rotor and coil from Echlin at NAPA. And that was cost price! About half the price of list!

MSD is good quality all around. Taylor makes the best wires IMHO. I use AC Delco or NGK in my cars (L98, LT1 and LS1).

Need to find an old school mechanic who can tune the car and set the timing with a light and by ear. I go with AC Delco, my friends a mechanic and says the others just aren’t worth the extra money in that engine. Oh and he has a 1970 Boss 351 Mustang, and a 74 Stingray.

I keep getting misfires. I went through 2 sets of MSD super conductor wires and they just broke again lol. I’ll never use MSD wires again. Also it had a cheap aluminum terminal cap on it. I’m going to get the injectors flow tested tomorrow if the guy is there. And then I just gotta see if the plugs I’m using are too cold.

AC plugs (copper) Blue Streak cap, and rotor (standard ignition) Wires I can usually find a good USA set on Rockauto on closeout fairly reasonable. Don’t forget the fuel filter too

msd stay away from ac delco the more money you spend on the parts the better they will be and it will run right i been through 3 caps and rotors of other brands same with wires then i bought msd cap rotor wires and put e3 plugs in it all that with the royal purple oil and k&n oil filter it runs better than ever other than i think my throttle position sensor is going out again for the fourth time and thats a delco time for a more expensive one

Ummmm, a 1970 Boss 351 does not exist. Boss 351 was a 1 year only for 1971. Oh, AC Delco for everything.
