I just installed the Pedal Commander on my Srt8, what a difference. Worth the money!

Makes it more responsive,Right…
Definitely!
Night and day difference. I was a little hesitant.
No regrets.
Thinking of getting one for my wife’s Jeep.
@Javier saw it one of the car shows was impressive ??
@Javier i own an srt8 what are the benefits from it!? Is it worth it?
The Eco mode is on longer so my Mpg has increased in city driving. I have been averaging 20mpg. Imagine adjusting the sensitivity of your gas according to your preference. My SRT8 is automatic so when I would press the gas pedal at times there would be a delay and shifting wouldn’t be smooth. This completely eliminates that delay. My transmission shifts smoother and rpm is more constant.
Thought about it. Just can’t see spending $300 on it. Need to see if there’s an adjustment in my diablosport tuner to make the throttle more responsive. Seems like I remember there being a setting (although I’m sure it won’t have nearly the range of the PC). If I can just take out the lag, that’d be great.
Unless they changed it, it’s there… If you have a diablosport these are a total waste of money..
I kind of remember adjusting it slightly but I still have some lag. Will have to hook up and take a look. See if there’s more range in the adjustment.
Yeah the Diablo will have the ability and I assure you it will have a lot more range than the pedal commander as it will actually adjust more than the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. Plus you won’t have to have some ugly corded device plugged in all the time.
Manual or Auto?
My SRT8 is automatic.
Ok thanks
Would it work on my 15 R/T 6sp manual with sport mode on?
i have it on my 14 6m
manuals need that ecco mode since we dont have mds
Snake oil! Buy a diablo. 100’s of Utube vidéos out there.
I looked at diablo but I have a Certified Srt8 so I have warranty until June 2012.
You can take it off when you take it in for service, goes back to stock in 5 minutes.
I had an issue with the radio sound and the dealer said it was due to the back up camera I had installed. It was a joke. Later I learned it was my iPod that was plugged into the USB port in center console.
Well, if you have a 15 or newer, you will have to purchase their PCM and the tuner. If you plan to mod things like a cam, heads, go Diablo, but if you want your factory warranty and just want more response, the Pedal Commander would be your best choice and does not require a pcm change.
I am curious if the device itself, Pedal Commander ever require any updates and does it have to stay installed, plugged in, to use it.
Yes, it has to stay installed. It does no programming itself. It simply intercepts the signal from your gas pedal, alters it, then sends it on its way to the PCM, so the PCM thinks you’re pressing the pedal more or less than you really are. If you unplug it, you have to plug the stock wiring back in, and you’re back to original setup. Can’t think of any reason it would need an update, unless they found a flaw/malfunction, and even then not sure if you can access it for updating without just sending it back to the factory.
@Tim When installing, do you need to unplug the battery cable?
Nope. Just pull the under dash panel loose above the pedals at the base of the steering wheel. Reach up and separate the plug from the sensor at the top of the gas pedal. Plug the PC plugs in according to instructions. Replace panel. Drive around with a big grin on your face. 🙂
Just install mine on a v6 .I like it but my 0-60 is still the same unless I’m doing something wrong
It won’t really change your 0-60 times. It doesn’t add any horsepower or torque, or make your car faster. What it does is make your gas pedal more sensitive, so you don’t have to push it as far to get the same result. Pedal Commander is more about improving the fun factor and driving feel of the car than it is making it actually perform better. It’s like putting on a more comfortable pair of shoes. It doesn’t make you run faster, but it helps you enjoy the run more. 🙂
Their aren’t any performance gains, it just makes the skinny pedal more responsive.
It’s a wast of no money I think
