@Eric I notice the same. I’m going to wait until Satan’s Nutsack (Florida) cools off a bit and I’ll be going back to 87. Definitely not as smooth when it’s really heat soaked and also 100° ambient. More noticeable in heavy stop and go traffic
@Matt that’s what I notice. Heat soaked engine with hot outside temps with 87 oct it’s pretty hesitant on accelerating. Tho even in the winter time with winter gas it can be just as bad. I personally think it’s best to run 93 octane all the time.
Matt Olson well ya when I was commuting a lot I was doing nearly 500 to 700 miles a week so that’s why I used 87. Now it’s down to barely 200 for me a week so I fill up with 93 purely. Also not to mention my car is bnr tuned now so it runs even better.
I started with 87 but I’m on 91 now (warm weather and 91 is the highest in my area). 87 does help the wallet, but I’ve noticed the 91 gives me a much smoother acceleration. It ain’t anything crazy but it’s much smoother and less abrupt than the 87 (at least in the warm weather)
I got the car thinking it was going to last me forever so I was 93 only After 1 year I can’t wait till I hit that 2 year mark to trade it in so now 87 it is
??♂️
I do but sometimes usually use 93
Same ^^ sometimes I switch it up
Why
Me
Used to when I did a lot of commuting. Tho the car was sluggish with 87. Now I use only 93.

@Eric and for 5 bucks a tank, the car gets such good mileage it doesn’t make much difference. Unless you’re driving thousands of miles a week ?

@Eric definitely don’t want to use the cheap juice with a tune ??
@Matt definitely cause I told BNR I use 93 only now lmao
The car was engineered to run 93 for the best fuel economy. Anything lower is lawnmower gas.
87 since I got it Feb. ‘18
I run 85 out here in CO

Premium only in mine.
93. Don’t want to knock the engine to death and chip a piston or something. Turbo cars need 93
87 only
I run 89 about to do 93 again though
Shes a daily so I get cheap. The odd time I put 91 in
93 all the way for me! Then again I’m tuned from gm and was told 91 or above from now on.
The broke ones
@Glenn i could buy a Cruze for 15 k but if you don’t get the expensive gas you’re broke? ?
@Bailey eh moreso cheap than anything. Get the good shit so your 15k car will last longer ?
@Glenn fair enough ???♂️
110k on 89 runs great. Occasionally I fill up with 91 when the forecast calls for swalls.
Sounds like everyone here went for a Briggs and Stratton swap. Sick.
??♀️ 2017 with 85.5k going strong
Only pour IPA beer in it, premium shit only
I got the car thinking it was going to last me forever so I was 93 only
After 1 year I can’t wait till I hit that 2 year mark to trade it in so now 87 it is
17 hatch I’m at 104k only use 93 and no issues
Nah 45-50 cetane is preferable over 87 octane. ??
I use what ever the cheapest one at Costco is I believe it’s 89 or 83
I run 93 all day everyday
93 mobil synergy supreme + for my 18 rs redline
Me❗
Running 87 in a newish cruze is false economy . 91 i
