Depends on which year and which trim you have. Some are pre-wired, others are not. Some are sold as kits with the pins and harness already made. You may or may not have to route wiring through your mirror assembly
I converted my non turn signal mirrors over the winter. I have a 2016 limited wrx, picked up a set of oem turn signals and pre-wired harnesses off Ebay. Hardest part was routing the wires down the arm of the mirror. After that it was super easy, pin the correct wires to the oem harness and plug it back into the car. Also had to trim the mirror cover too or you could just buy ones with the turn signals cut out.
Following. I also want to know how to paint my side mirrors black.

Just tap into the front turn signals, shouldn’t be too difficult as long as you have some knowledge of how wires work.
