Coil packs
Tps
Possibilities are endless
Seen a few say tps..goes away when warmed up
Probably coil packs, also check your intake pipe is on properly n not split
tps mate or low fuel
@Paul fuel is all good so will check tps ??
mine does a little gurgle now and then at like 2.5k doesnt make the car jerk or not respond though
@Paul it just misfires for a split second..annoying though
Diagnostics and look at the short term fuel trim
@Gordon in get it plugged in tomorrow..Will it come up on a snap-on computer?
Yes pal, mine was doing the same thing as it had shit fuel injectors causing overfueling so the short term fuel trim was in minus 30% trying to stop the leaking injection. Also check fuel pressure
@Gordon nice one! What should it be set at? Did you have to replace injectors then? Cheers mate will do ??
short term fuel trim will only operate when cruising. Very good indicator of an issue is but if it’s a slight miss or hesitation when you’re accelerating hard at 2-3k then your short term fuel trim will be 0 and in open loop driving.
When exactly does the miss happen?
@Cian it happens when I’m in second gear say..and I start accelerating very lightly on the throttle and at 2-3k it just misses a slight bit..enough to notice anyways then goes away further up the rev range or when engine is warm
Long terms are when cruising short term is pretty much real time
id check the TPS. Make sure that there’s a good smooth graph from 0.5v to 4-4.5 volts when slowly opening throttle. Say it goes 1.8 then suddenly drops to 0v or 5v for a split sec and then back to 1.9v etc. I’ve seen that before.
Nope long term is over a number of drive cycles and how the ecu has adapted injector pulse with over time. Short term is real time as the ecu adjusts injector pulse width in response to lambda sensor. Fuel trim only works when cruising or idling. As soon as you go on throttle to say overtake or accelerate up hill then the ecu switches to open loop driving. Fuel trim is only during closed loop operation.
Lol it baffled the shit out of me, but if the trim is in the minus by a fair bit then overfueling
Just trying to simplifie it I suppose
Yeah it takes a bit of thinking to understand alright as it works in opposite to each other. You’re right though
Nice one gents will have a look today ??
Mines the same at 2k rpm has a slight misfire. Annoying when town driving. I’m sure my TPS needs calibrating
I get a slight hesitation around 2100 rpm i thought it was a normal k series thing ?
Did you manage to get a computer plugged in?
@Gordon I’m still waiting for my guy to have a look haha will keep you posted bud ??
