Trade it in on the 3.6
I have the 3.8 and the horse power doesn’t bother me it’s a jeep not a sports car but if it’s to gutless for you then the 3.6 or a supercharger for your 3.8 is the only way to go
Thinking 6.2 LS swap…
I hv a flashpaq for the 3.8.jeep got totalled n I got a 16rubicon.i have no us for it
$$$?
$260.00 if I need to ship np plus shipping cost.
I’ve got a 3.6 285hp. I like it.
Just be thankful you have the reliable 3.8L not the more powerful 3.6L
I have a 08 with the RIPP Supercharger and RIPP long tube headers. Makes a huge difference. I pull a trailer all over the west coast on 40s, don’t think it would be possible without the RIPP.
And here we go again with the get the 3.6 it’s got 285 hp comments
Well in their defence it does lol but I do like my 3.8
I will agree the 3.6 does have more hp I’m not, denying that but you don’t get the full potential of the motor till you hit almost 7000 rpm’s and I don’t know anyone redlining their Jeep
I have had both (2007 and now 2017). My Jeep is a daily driver and at times on major hwys. I will take the 3.6 motor all day long. HUGE difference.
In power yes but the 3.6 is a engine with tons of problems. If your the type to drive a vehicle for 2 or 3 years you should be fine but those motors don’t last past 100k very often. Here comes the 19 people who have a reliable 3.6, the 8 million with garbage ones won’t say nothing lol or they will lie
My understanding is those “issues” we’re corrected in the 2016 and 2017 year models. As I stated previously, I prefer the 3.6 motor. I feel like I can pass someone on a freeway now without having to strategically pick a moment due to lack of power.
Hesco has a stroker kit for the 3.8…. rumored to fix lots of problems. I can not see doing a blower, without piston and ring upgrades ( and well some extra tlc to the heads).
Have 09 ripp kit with headers and 5.13 gears. I have not dynoed it yet for hp #s but the difference is huge and undeniable
I have the 3.8 and the superchips traildash 2. The tune made an ok improvement but I’m looking to do an LS swap now. A ripp SC can cost right about the same as the swap depending on your level of mechanical experience
Gears first.
