As long as you get the correct modules and harnesses, everything will work.

Yes. Crutchfield has everything you need for harness and etc to use steering wheel controls and backup camera.

@Matt nice. What head unit is that?

Hey, @Matt, where did you install the mic in your 15?

@Fred Headliner above the rear view mirror.

Kenwood dmx7705s

Metra 95-8907hg dash
Metra ax-subusb2 USB adapter
Metra 40-lx11 antenna adapter
Idatalink Maestro ADS-MRR
There’s an Idatalink wiring harness that is also needed. I don’t recall the part number.

Thank you, @Matt. Did you do it yourself?

Matt

@Fred Yes, I soldered the 2 harnesses together. After that it was all plug and play.

@Matt How difficult was pulling the factory model? I seriously don’t want to pull the whole dash to get in there.

I fix airplanes for a living so my gauge of difficulty may be different than yours. If you’re handy, it’s not terrible. The worst part was the cables for the A/C controls.

Only modifications I had to do was the speaker brackets in the doors.

Thinking about doing this in my 2017 in the near future. Do all the steering wheel buttons function normally? That’s my only concern.

I have the kicker speakers with kicker tweeters. Also did the hidden menu feature. Alot better than factory. Wouldn’t shake the doors off, but I think there well worth the price of them.

Swapped in the Pioneer 8400 NEX and all the factory things still worked, even added some functionality such as the ability to read and clear engine codes, TPMS readouts on screen, still uses the same GPS as the original headunit, added wireless CarPlay and android auto functions too

@Chris did you need adapters to get the factory stuff to work?

@David I bought the idata maestro kit to make hooking everything up easier. Because then it’s just matching wires and plugging into the factory harness, and being able to do that on a well lit table instead of halfway in the dash. The only thing that didn’t work was the SXM part but that requires a whole separate module anyway and the factory GPS antenna but it comes with its own anyway
