Has anyone ever got the Mini Connected iPhone app to work?? I can’t get it to register my 2012 from the VIN number.

Based on this, the app is meant for 2013 and newer…but the ratings are SUPER low for the app:

Thanks Ryan. I won’t waste any more time with it then.
Andrew Higgins i never got mine to accept my vin number, but it still recognizes my car and everything seems to work well . I’m just not sure I need it. I’m looking into Bimmer Code if anyone has any experience with it.
@Judy Bimmercode is 100% worth it in my opinion. I was dubious until I got it… But its good. You can alter that many things to suit yourself. My F60 S starts up in sport mode, the start/stop is off permanently, the door handle lights come on when reverse gear is selected & the sensitivity of the wipers are changed to name a few. Well worth getting ?
@Judy I’ve used bummer code for my F60. It is much more intuitive compared to the old fashion way of coding. To code your car you must purchase the app though. The free version doesn’t save (code) any of the alternations you’ve done.
@Carl, I figured, and I would have to buy it, but can’t find a price, don’t know if it’s $30 or $300. Did you get the snap in electronic thing they say you need, and was it easy to install?
@Judy the bluetooth module that goes into the OBDII of the car needs to be purchased separately. A quick search on Amazon will do. I believe the app is $30 or so. Once you have the Bluetooth module, simply plug it in and turn on the Bluetooth function on your phone and open the app, the app will search and connect to the device. Be sure to purchase the model that’s recommended on the bummer code app
@Mark, how much did the app end up costing? I never did see a price.
@Judy I cant remember the exact price. I think from App Store it’s free, and the upgrade was inside the app. Since I’ve already upgraded therefore I no longer see the price. I remember it was $30 more or less because I thought “wow, that’s a bit pricy” but ended up pulling the trigger because it’s a lot cheaper than hiring someone to code it the old fashion way. I think it’s worth it because from time to time I still use it to code my car to my liking. Love that my F60 can be set to the way I want whenever I want
@Mark, good, I was hoping it’s not too expensive. Don’t want to buy the OBD then find out the app!was too expensive. Thanks, can’t wait to start changing some things.?
Exactly as Mark said. In the UK the app & obd module both cost less than £70. I got the Vgate Bluetooth version & it works faultlessly every time. Regarding price for the app, you need to have the free version & upgrade from inside that. ?
I’ve tried both apps, they both are terrible. I wouldn’t even bother with them.
@Ana I m starting to realise that now Ana. Thanks
I struggled to but I have all the plus options so needed mini connect plus app
I gave up years ago.
If in Canada the new app is still not available. It says one should download the new app (that is available in the US). I tried the US app and it does not recognize the VIN. I assumed because Canadian car and the app is for the US only.
@Richard mine ismam2019 US car and it still doesn’t recognize my Vin. I’m not sure it matters, it doesn’t do much.
I’ve never got it to recognise my F60 either.
Mine recognised my car ( F60 ) but I can’t persuade it to use same consumption as the car, if I set car to show mpg the app shows
Miles per litre, and vice versa, I think I got them the same once but next time I drive the car it reverted to usual, life’s too short to worry and I forget about the app.
What app?
I just answer my phone from the steering wheel and make calls the same way, I play music from my phone through the same way
@Debra – there’s an app to go on your phone which tells you the fuel consumption etc of your car – depending what model you can also pre-set navigation – find last location of your car and even walking directions back to it – all ( maybe ) useful in theory but the novelty wore off quite quickly
@Gregory that’s all in my park lane
@Debra its Mini Connected.
I have never gotten it to work. But tomorrow I’m going to the shop.
I think it also worked with an iPhone and I have an android phone
@Jo I love it
@Debra you’ve gotten it to work?
@Jo yep…..
I got my service guy that do it lol
@Jo yep, or at least the serviceman did lol
Do you have an iPhone?
@Jo I have an apple I phone
@Jo just go into the dealership and they will do it in 5 minutes…… it’s soooooo handy
This one works but the sportsdials are laggy.
Does anyone have an android phone?
