Assuming you purchased it used with 39k miles Synthetic should be fine. If you purchased it new and this is your first oil change then I would stick with riding a bicycle. ?

@Dave yes used lol I bought it with 40k on it and I just hit 44

@Destiny, I run synthetic (mobile 1 ) in all my vehicles and have never had an issue. But honestly if you stick to the oil change intervals conventional should do just as well. So it comes down to budget. I don’t see anything in the manual that specifically says one or the other just “Toyota brand or equivalent “

Pull a sample and get it analyzed. Most people change their oil way too often. Here’s an example from my Rappy-
