all my driving is in town.. and i drive conservatively.. been babying it mainly because i just finished a freshen up on it.. (one of the previous owners broke the crank pulley bolt and welded the pulley to the crank, i put a new crank & bearings in, along with with 4 new valves.. resurface the head.. etc)
On my auto I beat the shit out of it and get 25mpg, 28 if I baby it. Probably a dumb question, but do you use regular gas, mid-grade, or premium?
regular 87 octane.. only have run one full tank through the car since i got it.. also i’m throwing a code 1 CEL.. i swapped in a known good O2 sensor and still got that damn code.. need to check continuity to make sure no open wires between o2 & ecu.
There’s you’re problem, it’s supposed to run 91+, we can run down to 86 but power and gas mileage suffers, I get 14-17mpg on 87.
Which 25mpg on premium is cheaper than 17mpg on regular when it comes down to miles per dollar.
i’ll give 91 a shot next tank.. i’ve still gotta clear this damn code.. your right.. and our premium is ethanol free 😉 (well one local gas station has ethanol free premium anyway)
All of ours where I live still have at least some ethanol in the premium. Like I said though, my mileage is shit when I run regular, and if you look at your gauge cluster it even says “Premium unleaded fuel only” 😛

When I had mine I’d average about 26-27
Premium only on H series. I got 23-25 on my old H23 daily.
I get about 27
