For some reason when I slow down sometimes my truck shakes/vibrate as I’m comin to a stop. What can it be?

If ur hitting ur breaks ur rotors are more than likely Woped
@Cody sometimes it’s when I hit the breaks and sometimes I can just be drivin slow and it will do it
@Dee mmm weird
@Cody but I’ll try and change out the rotors and see if that helps
@Dee have your Wheels and tires Balance Checked Too
My 96 Tahoe did that until I had wheels and Tires Balanced by Tire shop.
@Daniel they brand new
Sometimes the weights can come off. But if the tires are new I would Check Wheel bearings and Brake rotors
@Cody it doesn’t mean warped rotors. I did rotors pads and calipers all the way around my 08 and it does this as well.
Could be the caliper pins. The pads cant move freely which may cause excessive wear and extra friction on rotors etc..
Warped brake rotors or ABS system issue possibly
@Patrick u think usually if it’s abs wouldn’t the light come on
I figure it something to check, even if a light isn’t coming on. Also may be a hub issue depending on what year vehicle you have
Sounds like your torque converter is not unlocking ???
That could cause a shutter but I wouldn’t think it would be this problem it’s more likely to be something as simple as warped rotors.
It’s just when you mentioned “sometimes” which made me think it’s not a constant shutter everytime you slow down to a stop…
Brake rotors, hub, tie rods. Could be anything of the mix
Rotors
If the shake is in the steering wheel and starts after hitting a bump or sharp application of the brakes I’d look at the pitman arm and or idler arm. If you feel a pulse in the brake pedal I’d look at the rotors.
A worn idler/pitman arm will cause a wicked shimmy.
warped rotors
See @Dee I have this issue with my 08. I’ve done brakes all the way around including rotors to pads calipers new tires new suspension. My service stabiltrack light comes on. Now I believe it could be 2 possibly things. An abs sensor gone bad or as in mine has the cylinder shut down feature where it goes from 8-4 to save gas. Mines has been acting up and I’ve been picking the brains of local mechanics and most of them suggest abs sensors. It feels like you hit rumble strips.
@Jon yeah as if I’m pullin over on the interstate
Check your front suspension
@Ron changed all of that
@Dee then check your tire balancing
@Ron brand new i do that for a living so I wud know if that’s the problem
.
Rotors! Try holding your emergency brake down to stop & see if it does it. Just keep the emergency brake lever pulled tight & you can use the pedal as a brake & that will tell you if it’s in your braking system via/ rotors or if you have some other front end issue but it sounds like warped rotors 100%. Best of luck & god speed brother.
Bad u joints can cause vibrating too… is it only hitting the brakes or when you let off the gas?
Sounds like rotors or possible hub. My Escalade did the same thing. Ended up being the front hubs.
Warped rotors
Mine was doing that. Guaranteed the rotors were warped which is why I didn’t notice, but my cv axle was literally separated past the boot and would occasionally ‘climb over it’s self’ a few times before separating again. Only noticed it coasting down below 30 until it totally broke.
Wheel bearings could probably have some ‘bearing’ as well!
