Its basically for anyone with a lowered crv… I dont wanna sound rude but seriously just saving you an accident or a tow bill. I didn’t believe it then it happened to me i had to drive 25km with tire jammed in the wheel well not fun. More or less not if it happens but when it happens. maybe @Tanvir can back me up on this
Thanks bro, now I got it.
I’m picking mines up tomm wat u actually mean I drive wit my son so I wouldn’t want nothing like that to happen can u explain to me b4 I put it on ????
Read down the comments to show u wut u really need to do cuz I was confused at first
Ok thanks
My boys know how to put it on just wanna bsafe In the road that’s all
Yeah it’s not even the matter of putting it on, it’s easy to put it on, it’s just u gotta do just a little something to make sure ur straight which is why I’m glad I posted I lowered mine cuz they let me know what I had to do
U got pics of it
U need to buy tru hart upper control arms it wont get stuck
Oem upper control arm to long
It really happens trust me. Took a jack in the wheel well on the hub to separate. Slammed on d2
Air hammer the shit out of everything
This
Can I get pics of exactly what I need to trim, I’m low key lost cuz I just looked and nothing’s rubbing.
Jack up the knuckle with no strut installed, see what hits, make it not hit anymore
I wish i read that warning. Just happened to me lastnight
DONT CARVE YOUR CONTROL ARM
No shit lol, I can’t believe people cut the arm… You gotta cut the inner wheel well lol
See that lip he got caught on? Hammer/cut/grind that, NOT the arm
Yup. That what i did to release it. Air hammered the metal lip that it got caught on
James, u always been my life saver hahaa. Now I get it. And thanks everyone else, I’m glad u guys gave me heads up!
@James dont like when ppl shave it …..best bet spent some money and buy tru harts upper control arm for crv u wont have that problem
Yeah, don’t take material off the arm, that’s stupid haha. It’s thin enough
Wtf do people think when theyre doing what they do. Really grinding down the control arm. Sketchy shit
I grinded mine down mines actually pass threw the chassis under the hood and i can still go lower
I did. 🙂 shaved off the excess part
Not fun and safe at all
yes you will get stuck , im not even as low as half the guys on here and I’ve managed to get my car stuck at this height. (also on truharts)
Just buy the right control arms!
How much u got em for?
No more grinding with this ones on correct?
They were $207. Yes no grinding needed.. Grinding your control arm down is the ghetto way to drop a crv!
If your gonna grind your upper control arm you mind as well put it cut springs
Lol u right
Hows the alignment?
This is what you have to trim and bang inn @Monique
Take a wizzer wheel and put cuts 1 inch apart and fold the tabs out to the tire. I’d go 1-2″ past where the arm can catch on both sides. I’m going to cut that area out and have my body guy box it in.
Just buy the camber kits it happened to me the second day and I bought the camber kits ASAP
I shave the camber kit a little and the wheel weld done deal an I only had that problem on driver side
If u are lowering a v. Trim your control arm or. Properly trim your frame closest to the control arm.
Why does everyone want to be ghetto? If you just buy the right merchandise you won’t have to cut anything!
What merchandise is that ? Bcuz any time u lower a first gen this will happen
Incorrect. I have yonaka coils and ingals rd1 camber control arms in the front and still had to shave the frame a bit for clearance.
The ends of the control arms are rounded not pointed like the stock ones.. Therefore they do not hit the frame
Not the right way to do this!!!
That just makes them Easter to fall in and harder to get out But it’s ok bro ur right dude build it ur way. We will build it ours
And besides if ur using camber arms it’s to add – camber or + camber and if ur adding + camber then the balljoint is still sticking out
Yes it sticks out a little bit but its actually about 3/8 of an inch smaller than the stock control arms..that’s about what people are shaving off the stocks ones
Truharts also have hard race balljoints which hold up way better than the stock balljoints on a lowered vee
i set mine with the ball joints in where they wont hit and only have – 1.2 camber so its not bad at all.
Okeidokei
Trimmed the shit out of my upper control arm and air hammered cut grinder the body of the CRV to clear and it’s Gucci pimpin . Recently cut out the fender too I was tired of that shit making loud noises .
???
“Big pimpin”
