Does putting in a lift or leveling kit without going through dealer void any warranties?

Yup it will
Get the dealership to do it that way if anything goes wrong it’s their problem.
Was hoping to avoid dealer they charge twice the amount it would cost otherwise,as all dealers do!
Yup I know but don’t want to void the warranty.I called the dealership and they said that there is a lift kit thats 4″ and it’s a mopar kit.and if it’s not a mopar kit then yes you will void warranty on your truck.
So guess you will have no choice on your new truck but take it in and get them to do it and pay the price. That’s why I really never cared in putting a lift in any of the new dodge trucks that I had.Too much money.
It isnt gona void your warranty. Well not all of it.
say you have a issue with the engine example your water pump goes up they arent gona void it because of a leveling kit. Now if you have a suspension issue yes they will void that part of it.
Thanks
By law they can only refuse warranty on the part you swapped out or prove that what you changed was actual cause and not a defect in any other component in question. I just lifted my 13 with the Mopar kit. Good product but cost a bit more then compariable 2″ kit. My dealer told me they’d cover ALL the Mopar parts except the Bilstiens that came with the kit. Shocks and wear items are not usually covered anyway. Just my 2-cents
False, will not void your whole warranty. The dealer has to prove that the product cause the issue and they can only void that part of the warranty. Like they can’t blame a tuner for causing suspension damage and they can’t blame the suspension for throwing a rod through the block
Ps, I installed all the parts myself, never even asked what the dealer would charge.
Lol,thanks for all the input 🙂
They were meaning drivetrain warranty people call and ask them lol
They can void drivetrain though if the lift didn’t cause the issue
It’s what they said I called the dealer
They were bs’ing you and just trying to get you to spend more money with them. Magnuson moss act keeps them from voiding it just cause you have a mod if it didn’t cause the issue.
But it all depends on the dealer too. Some stick strictly to that act and void when they can whereas others don’t care as much about it and will fix stuff under warranty that should be voided
Talk to your dealer and ask them bud
Those of you that have followed my odyssey on my failed stock motor @ 16K will remember the write up I did on the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act on the forums. In a nutshell ,Garner pretty much summed it up.My oil pump failed by no cause of my bolt ons .They covered my motor under warranty after I “persuaded” them using the act and my contacts at SRT.
Oh I have, but they’re a chill dealership. I took my truck in one day for what I thought was a messed up trans or rear end(traction control light was flashing through 3rd gear which is far from normal on a stock 4th gen R/T) and still had the drag racing numbers on the windows, all they did was ask the issue and what I ran lol. So it depends a lot on the dealer. But all of them have to follow magnuson-moss
So here’s what I’ve found out so far, keep in mind I’m in Canada rules may be a little different here…putting in leveling kit does not void any warranties, putting in lift can void some warranties but NOT all, depends on the dealer that you go to,we have been going to the same one for years as too how lenient they will be if in fact the lift causes any issues to what they will cover or not
