I scheduled an appointment, brought my truck in. Sat in the waiting area for 2+ hours and they came out and told me they couldn’t do the recall because they didn’t have parts.
@Jon I was furious. I’m not usually one to make a scene, but this time I did. I went up to the guy that scheduled the appointment and demanded he give me my money back for a lost day of work. And I put an official complaint in to Ford. It was a mess
I’ve received 3 emails and letters with the recall over the last 2 yrs.. Received another one today.. last time I called the dealer, was told the parts were in, but when I took the truck in for service, was told “sorry, the parts aren’t for your recall, so we can’t use them.. Needless to say, the dealer heard a few choice words about customer service and wasted time
Supposedly takes one day of labor. They don’t offer a rental car, sorry.
Took them about an hour to do mine
About 45 minutes for me.
About an hour here
Mine was about 1 hour and 30 minutes because my flap wasn’t set flush found it needs to be in the sun
Mines going in Monday. They said half day to full day
Was about 45 minutes however, the part did not work out of the box so they had to reorder and reschedule another day of my time. 2nd part worked.
well that sucks
Took 4 hrs for my dealer
Took about an hour for mine.
What year ranger was the recall for ?
04 – 06
@Jon thanks , 01 , I’m clear .
you would have gotten a letter from @Ford
Jon McIntyre just purchased a few months ago
Like all of them
my ’08 B4000 is under the same recall as well. My ’11 Ranger isn’t. Run your VIN, you’ll know for sure
@Jon, Mine is an ‘07 and I got a recall notice.
@Tom interesting, my letter said 04 to 06
@Jon. . .

@Jon – never believe a word the dealership is telling you 🙂
I had a rental for about 2 weeks
About two months wait the part to come in. Then working with their inflexible scheduling department, that can take weeks.
Ford dealers are horrible. At least in my neck of the woods.

that’s horrible! I called my dealer and they ordered the parts first then called me to schedule.

Geeezzz that really sucks! I’d find a new local dealer if I were you, I had to because I had to many bad incidents.
25-30 minutes for me
You don’t need air bags, but it could be an hour or 2 or the rest of your life just depends on the dealer
7
Depends on availability of parts… My dealership can usually have Ranger units within a few days at this point
They did mine and said it was about an hour. Mine (2009) was for the passenger air bag, not the driver’s side.
About 8 years XD
35 minutes if they get it right in.
Hour once they have the parts
waiting on the parts and a call back too
