Did anybody come from owning a Jeep Wrangler to a 4Runner? Which did you like more pros/cons?

I had jeeps in the past. I do miss being able to drop the top and doors. My last truck was a ram 1500, I do not miss it. The 4runner feels super capable and I will be taking it off road
Still have mine. You cannot really compare a Wrangler to a 4R. Two totally different drive trains, wheel base, ground clearance. A Cherokee and a 4R have more in common.
Had 3 Wranglers and 2 4Runners… if you’re interested in a reliable vehicle that still has all the off road capabilities – 4Runner all the way. 4R are much more quality, long lasting, and reliable. Jeeps are hard to drive, fall apart, and unreliable. I do miss the top and doors off feature – but the back window is a fair substitute. 4RUNNER all day!
I’ve had enough Chrysler’s to know better. Traded my p.o.s. liberty in on my first toyota. Never again.
????
Wow
Leaking p.o.s.
I absolutely hated that thing. Fca is nothing but trash, they will never change.
Can I steal this picture. Lol.
Yep, share away lol. The whole brand is junk but I literally wanted to destroy this truck with a .308 🙂 Traded it on my first Yota.
Yep two weeks ago
When i test drove the jeep vs the 4runner i likes the way the4runner drove better and the way the seats felt better and the overall atmosphere of the 4runner. I also had 3 kids so the 3rd row seats and cargo room was a plus
I also had a Jeep Unlimited, the roof leaked and they could never figure it out and I also had issues with the transmission. Got rid of it for my 4runner before my warranty ended. I did like it but the 4runner is a way better built vehicle. My husband was even impressed with how well built it is, and that says alot coming from him because he was against me buying a Toyota.
Thank you all for your replays, it helps me a lot to go forward and build my 4Runner up
A friend of mine got a brand new Wrangler, after 300 miles the head gasket fail….
This was my wrangler since 2012 and man was it a piece of crap. I never wanted to drive it because it was too much work to keep the thing on the road. On top of that, the transmission was absolute garbage. I decided to sell it when I realized how terrible it was. Bought a TRD pro and never looked back. Taking the top off is cool and all, but I like the rear power glass better in the 4Runner!
I went from a ’12 JK to a ’16 TRD PRO and haven’t looked back. They’re two different beasts though. Obviously the JK is a SFA so the ride quality is harsher than the 4Runner.
I was tired of all the leaks I had and it wasn’t practical for me to have a 2DR for personal reasons.
The 4Runner is an awesome vehicle.
I had a 2015 JKUR and recently traded it for a 2017 4Runner TRD off road. I have been so much happier! I liked my Jeep, and enjoyed it while I had it. But, we take my vehicle on a lot of road trips and the Jeep is just really loud and not near as comfortable on the inside. You had to turn the radio all the way up on the highway, and practically yell at your passenger to have a convo ? Taking the tops and doors off didn’t appeal to me after a while because it’s a pain in the butt to get them off and on, and most importantly, to store them somewhere safe so they don’t get scratched while they’re off. I didn’t have a single issue with my Jeep, but I never felt like it would last like a Toyota! My husband is also a Toyota guy, so he was on board to see the Jeep go!
T4r hands down! Just traded our jku in a few months ago. Comfort and reliability t4r>jku! If you off-road 80-90% of the time, and have lots of money for replacement parts, jku is the better option.
JKU FU
@Isaac
While a TJ Wrangler will have less issues than a JK/JKU, it’s still not a reliable vehicle. Recently made the change from Jeep to 4Runner
In recent years, the quality and reliability of jeep have gone down even further. You can spend a good bit on a new Jeep just to make it reliable without building it for off-roading. Building a reliable Jeep for off-road is really expensive. Most people don’t do that and end up with tons of problems. With the 4runner, you can start with off-road mods because they’re super reliable right out of the box. They both have their place off-road but for an all-around vehicle, I would take the runner every time.
