Battery light came on and car is making a whining noise…manual says contact scion dealer. What all could it be?

You should contact the dealer and find out.

Recently had this problem, first it’s the battery then it’s the alternator.

My car is doing the exact same thing and I took mine to a mechanic and I was told it is the serpentine belt and that could cause the battery light to come on. I just got off the phone with Toyota and they told me the same thing so Monday I get my belt fixed and hopefully that fixes the battery light problem as well

Could be battery or alternator. Belt maybe but … Get it checked quickly you may only have till the battery goes dead.

Thanks guys. Yea the battery died. All the warning lights started coming on, speedometer went crazy, then it died. Currently stuck on the side of the road…

Yea I did, but the car didn’t. Going to get it in the morning

Depending how far you need to drive you may be able to put a charged battery in it and get it home.

Yea that’s what we’re gonna try in the morning. Didn’t want to have to use the lights tonight and run the battery down

Mine came on when my battery was done and it lead to my alternator going out as well.
