Anyone ever done shorty headers instead of manifolds when replacing the broken studs on a 5.4????

Curious about the same thing.
I did. I installed a set of BBK shorty headers. With the CAI on it’s blast. Have to keep my foot out of the gas???
I wanted to. Time constraints..
You mean like this bullshit pain in the ass. I just got done putting pace setters on mine. Fit like a glove but cldnt use the studs so I used the bolts that came with it.
@John so why couldn’t you use the studs?
@Jason cause the studs were to long on the runners
@John oh the flange is too thin mating to the head?
@Jason that’s the one
@John damn I wanted to get these for my swap but got new studs heard bolts come loose sometimes
@Jason locktite
@Jason I used red locktite because I’ll b damned if I pull this motor again.
And honestly the studs suck, I broke 2 new ones taking them out because of the length.
@John true
I just got the trans hooked back up, doing the y pipe now and than the cross member and than the t case.
Have had shorties on mine for several years now..
Same, I have pacesetter shorties now.
The pace setters are good? Been looking on ebay
This is such great news.
I have the pacesetter shorty headers on my 98. They’re starting to rust after 1 1/2 years, even though I painted them. When I do it again, I’ll probably try to find a set of long tube headers, or stainless shorty/long tubes.
@Jacob where do you live? If you don’t mind me asking?
Montana, so they go through a lot of abuse in the winter.
@Jacob makes since
